Born 1963 (Tokyo, Japan) currently lives and works in Fukuoka.
Toru Kurita graduated from Tama Art University in 1990 and earned his BA of Fine Arts as well as his Doctorate of Design from Kyushu University in 2010.
His eyes are constantly looking at the environment. In the environment, there are a lot of forms that consist of various materials and structures, and phenomenon that are occurring in the space. He sees that the environment is the result of those phenomena. Currently, he is interested in the “condition” and “phenomenon” of things and he is currently in the process of that quest.
